2014 BRUSH & LIMB COLLECTION

 RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS ONLY

 New Wilmington Borough will begin to collect brush and limbs for chipping

on the following days:

 2014 Schedule

 May 5 - - - June 2 - - - July 7 - - - August 4 - - - September 8 - - -

 October 6 (last day of pick-up for 2014

 Everything must be at the curb by 7:00 AM on the day of collection (NO backyard collections).  The truck and chipper will only make one pass through. 

THEY WILL NOT GO BACK THROUGH A SECOND TIME!

 PLEASE FOLLOW THESE RULES OF COLLECTION: 

 Limbs and brush must be placed at the curb ONLY ONE DAY before collection

Nothing over 6 inches in diameter - long lengths are acceptable  

DO NOT twine together piles of brush/limbs

No roots

No rocks in piles of brush

Do NOT place anything in containers or garbage bags

No thorny brush vines such as rose bushes, grape vines, forsythias, Greenbrier - this type of brush will clog the chipper 

Anything that we cannot or will not chip will be left at the curb for the property owner to dispose of.

If you have contracted with a tree service, they should remove limbs and debris.  The Borough will not collect large jobs - we are not in the tree trimming service.

BULK TRASH PICK-UP

For RESIDENTIAL properties only

May 8, 2014

The Borough has contracted with Allied Waste to provide a Borough wide residential clean up of trash and debris.  Residents must follow the guidlines listed below:

Items must be placed at the front street or curb lines of each residential unit no earlier than 5:00 PM on the evening of May 7 and not later than 6:00 AM on May 8 - the day collection.  All items not accepted for collection must be removed immediately.

Collection shall include no commercial construction debris.   No items shall be over 5 feet in length, except furniture.

Do NOT place the following out for collection:

Sod - bricks - liquids or hazardous waste - tires - rims - batteries

Limbs shall be no more than 3 inches in diameter and 4 feet in length.

No large appliances will be collected.  Arrangements may be made for removal by contacting Allied Waste at 330-793-7676 and will include a fee.

No outside materials shall be brought into the Borough for collection.

ALL ITEMS ARE TO BE BAGGED OR BOXED FOR EASE OF COLLECTION.  No loose items.

Items cannot be collected that do not have a tag stating "Freon" has been removed. (ex. air conditioners, dehumitifiers)

SPRING LEAF COLLECTION

 There will be a ONE DAY ONLY spring leaf pick-up on MONDAY, MAY 12, 2014.  Please place leaves at the curb.  Collection will begin at 10:00 AM.  Only leaves will be collected.  There will only be ONE pass through -

ANYTHING PLACED OUT AFTER THE TRUCK PASSES WILL NOT BE COLLECTED.

New Wilmington Sesquicentennial - 150 Years

 A limited assortment of souvenir T-shirts and garden flags are available for sale at the Borough Office.

 Flags: $11.00

T-shirts: very limited sizes - price reduced

Also available - Video and slideshow CD's of the 150th Birthday Party.  Video and pictures taken by Gemini Creative Studio and contributions from residents.  CD's for sale at the Borough Office during regular hours.

Set - $20.00              Single - $15.00

Gemini Creative Studio will donate $2.50 of each purchase back to the Borough toward a community project - an amphitheater at the Park.

New Wilmington Municipal Authority is in the process of activating this emergency water notification service.  

Please complete the form that was included in your recent billing and return it to the Borough office as soon as possible so we can activate this notification process.

**PLEASE RESPOND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!**

Thank you to those who have already turned in the information needed for this program. 

Those who have not yet responded, please do so as soon as possible.  We are required by DEP to have a notification program in process so it is essential that we have correct phone numbers or e-mail for each resident.

RECYCLING SCHEDULE 

Please refer to the calendar sent to you by ALLIED WASTE INDUSTRIES, INC for your recycle schedule.   Recycling is every other week and your week depends upon where you live.

EVERYONE entering the pool area must pay the daily rate or have a season pass

Season Passes

Season passes MUST be purchased at the Borough Office

Monday - Friday  8:00 AM - 4:00 PM beginning May 12, 2014

If you have not purchased your season pass before you go the the pool (and the Borough office is not open) you must pay for a daily swim and there will be NO credits towards the purchase of your pass.

NO rain checks will be given for any reason - money will not be refunded due to inclement weather

on State Route 158

(across from the Dollar General store) 

Come and join the fire department for the Flea Market and Auction.   

Food and drinks will be available all day.
